I’m Kristin Hoats, a certified grief therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I help people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or reactive start to understand what’s really going on underneath and learn how to respond differently.

I work closely with first responders and high-stress professionals, who are ready to break patterns and do things differently. My work is rooted in getting to the core of things, not just managing symptoms, so you can feel more in control, more confident, and more like yourself again. As an LCSW, I help individuals discover their deep-rooted issues, I teach ways to regulate moods, and create meaningful, lasting change. 

Who I Help

I guide individuals struggling with anxiety, anger, emotional regulation and grief. Especially those who feel overwhelmed, on edge, or quick to react but don’t fully understand why.

I love working with people navigating a situational crisis or adjusting to new life challenges, especially those who are motivated to grow but don’t yet have the tools to get there. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious about your life, and unsure of what steps to take next.

Many of my clients are used to holding everything together for others: parents, caregivers, first responders, high stress professionals and often feel like there’s no space for their own emotions.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in the same patterns, this is a place to land. A place where you can finally exhale. I’ll meet you exactly where you are and walk alongside you as you start to make sense of what’s been weighing on you so you can find clarity, relief, and a stronger connection to yourself again. You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.

Together, we slow things down and get underneath the surface—understanding your triggers, your patterns, and what’s really driving your reactions. We build practical tools that actually work, so you can respond with intention instead of reacting on autopilot. This is where things start to shift where you begin to feel more steady, more clear, and more in control of your day-to-day life, with the confidence to move forward in a way that finally feels different.

Step 2 | Actionable Tools

This is where we start doing the work. We slow things down and get clear on what’s actually going on: what’s been building, what’s keeping you stuck, and what needs to shift? We focus on what matters most right now so you’re not just talking, you’re moving forward in your healing journey. You’ll leave with direction and real tools you can start using right away.

And yes…I’ll give you things to practice between sessions. Not busy work, but practical tools and strategies you can use in your everyday life. Because real change doesn’t just happen in session. I’ll help you build skills that actually stick, so you can feel more in control, more grounded, and stop just getting through the day… and start showing up differently in your life.

Sessions are collaborative, intentional, and focused on real progress, not just spending time talking about what’s wrong, but actively working toward what’s possible. This is a space where insight turns into action. Together, we build confidence, strengthen emotional boundaries, and improve communication patterns so you can feel more grounded, steady, and in control of how you show up in your life.
